External IP Scanning
What is it and what do we need to see?
To complete the Cyber Essentials Plus (CE+) assessment, we’ll need to scan your organisation’s external IP addresses — specifically for any office locations you operate from.
If you’re based in a shared office space, you’ll need to get permission from the building owner or network administrator before we can carry out the scan.
For businesses without a physical office (e.g. fully remote teams or home-based setups), we can scan a home IP address instead. Ideally, this should be the home of a company director or business owner.
Your IT team or support provider should be able to provide you with the relevant external IP address(es). If not — or if you don’t have IT support — you can find this yourself by visiting whatismyip.com and noting down your IPv4 address.

Important: Please ensure that the IP address you provide is for your office or regular work location.
